Architect

Luis Pedro Silva / Design: Aethos Studio

Aethos entrusted a project crafted by the renowned design studio Astet based in Barcelona, collaborating with the Portuguese architect Luis Pedra Silva. Together, they fashioned this architectural masterpiece suffused with light, skillfully capturing the essence of the surrounding environment.

In a totally natural environment and bathed by the rough waters of the Portuguese Atlantic, you will find this luxurious hideaway. This environment is visited by hundreds of surfers from all over the world in search of the best waves, so the vibe of the surrounding area is super cool, with entrepreneurs, artists and sportsmen looking for a place to disconnect and practice their favourite sport.
Ericeira is a charming fishing village that offers a wonderful fusion of Portuguese tradition and sophisticated surf vibe, with traditional fishermen’s cottages standing alongside trendy cafes and bars.
The Portuguese love Ericeira and flock to it in the summer months, attracted by the beautiful beaches and delicious seafood for which the town has a well- deserved reputation.
The property is perfectly situated on a cliff top with spectacular views and has been reimagined from an old farm property.

To carry out this project, Aethos relied on a project devised by the award-winning design studio Astet, located in Barcelona, and the Portuguese architect Luis Pedra Silva, who together have created this architectural work full of light and which captures the essence of the surroundings. Its creators wanted to use materials that recall all the seasons and not just the pleasant summer, with warm materials such as wood and textiles in upholstery and cushions, mixed with cold ones such as marble, glass and stone with a palette of colours reminiscent of the guests where they are located – with sandy tones, sea blues and the stone palette of the great cliffs.
Astet wanted to create spaces for a modern but luxurious casual generation, for digital nomads and visitors who want to disconnect, so he has created rooms where you can sit and read a book, or work on your computer with large windows and ample spaces with natural light and a modern and welcoming décor.

Aethos is all about surfing and that’s why it emphasises its surf centre where you can take advantage of surf coaching and a dedicated surf concierge. Private lessons for families and groups can be booked on the spot. For experts, the surf concierge will inform you about the best spots for this fascinating sport and the current conditions which will be sent directly to your mobile phone.
The gastronomic experience is important at Aethos Ericeira and even more so considering the gastronomic culture of Portugal and the area. Onda is a relaxed restaurant with spectacular views. Chef Afonso Blazquez has taken inspiration from the beauty and culture of the surrounding area, with flavours from the sea and local ingredients.

Although Aethos Ericeira revolves around the surf culture, it has activities with a physical and mental well-being focus and therefore houses a Spa with several treatment rooms, a hammam and hot slab and a year-round heated saltwater pool. There is also a yoga deck and meditation area overlooking the ocean to take your mind off things.
For those who need to follow a training routine, you will find a gym with the latest fitness technology and personal trainers who will help you maintain your routine or create a completely new one according to your goals.
Finally, to explore the surrounding area, you can take advantage of the e-bikes available to guests and find out about different routes and places of interest nearby.
